Heeeeres Johnny

We started the basics of blocking for our upcoming play “The 1940s Radio Hour” tonight.  It’s a really funny script – I hope we’ll be able to do it justice.
I play Johnny Cantone – a Sinatra wannabe sleaze who gets progressively drunk during the course of the show.  He’s the “star” of the cavalcade, but [...]

Noodling: Bluesey

Just a bit bored tonight and cranked out a little blues track. Doesn’t really go anywhere, just for fun. You can listen to it here.

Santas

This past Christmas I did a number of Santas in polymer clay for friends and family. I have some snapshots of them on my Flickr stream. Not pictured is a nativity scene I started and never got past the first three figures. You’ll just have to browse the stream – I don’t have [...]

Beach Trip

Looking forward to our annual college get-together.  I’ve heard somewhere that a mark of really good friends is how you can get together after big gaps of non-communication and not miss a beat.  That’s exactly the case with these guys.
You can see some pics from last year’s affair here.

This is a very old tune I’ve had kicking around since college days. It’s basically in the same form with just a couple of chord changes here and there. I wrote it about breaking up with a girl, I believe. I’m actually fairly happy with it – the music, vocal and instruments [...]

Track: Believe

Kind of a melancholy little ditty about… well, basically about faith. It’s a personal statement, but I think it lends itself to most any particular religion or philosophy that you happen to embrace – because we all believe in something. You can listen to it here.
What you’ve been left here with
Was never something you [...]

Track: Being Me

This tune went through a lot of transformations and several re-records. I’m still not 100% happy about the way it turned out, but I had invested way too much time in it and needed to move on. It’s sort of a persona statement, just expressing a thought rattling around my head. It’s [...]

Track: Time With You

This is a silly little tune I did a couple of years ago. Sort of a country-pop kind of thing. I was trying to convince my wife to skip work with me and scribbled down some lyrics around the them. Not my best vocal representation to posterity. You can listen [...]

Track: America

A year or so ago I was asked to accompany a singer (Zina Duncan) to perform a patriotic song to open the North MS Teachers Association meeting. It was a fairly nice setup with around 600 in attendance and a decent stage, but not the greatest sound system. We didn’t want to go with [...]
